Scilla Siberica is one of Springs earliest bloomers, producing intense blue, bell shaped nodding flowers (1-3 per stem), each bulb producing 3-4 flower stems above a grassy foilage in March/April. A wonderful way to add a sea of blue to the rock garden or border front!
Also stunning when massed around trees or shrubs, in sweeping drifts in woodlands or wild areas or naturalised in the garden.
It combines nicely with chionodoxa, which flowers a bit earlier and overlaps with Galanthus (Snowdrops). And it stays around to greet the earliest daffodils.
